Intersema was founded in October 1998 in Bevaix, Switzerland as a 100% privately owned company. The company is now owned by Measurement Specialties.

The development of the sensor technology started in the early 90's in cooperation with the famous 'Institute of Microtechnology' in Neuchâtel. Intersema continues to benefit from local technology and personnel resources in the 'Silicon Valley of Switzerland'.

Strengths include extremely accurate digital output barometric pressure modules (1 and 10bar), and highly linear unamplified absolute pressure sensors (1 and 12bar)
