GENERAL DESCRIPTION

SM5822/SM5872The SM5822/SM5872 is a packaged co-integrated sensor. Both are meant for high-volume OEM applications. The SM5822/SM5872 contains a CMOS co-integrated pressure senor with built-in EE-PROM memory for storage of calibration information. This single-chip sensing element provides multi-order error correction both for temperature non-linearities as well as temperature non-linearities. The initial offering for this product is meant for pressure applications of 0.6 PSI and above and can be configured for gauge or absolute applications. The device requires 5 VDC for power and provides a nominal 4 volt full-scale signal output, based on the calibration provided. Customer-specific zeros and full-scale parameters can be specified at time of calibration. Programmable output clamping (both high and low) is provided as is signal filtering.

The SM5822/SM5872 is provided in an SOIC-16 package which is ready to use. The SM5822 is for pressures from 5 PSI full-scale to 100 PSI full-scale while the SM5872 is for low pressure applications currently as low as 0.6 PSI. Factory calibration is provided and the customer only needs to interface to the product thru 3 pins - power, ground, and output. The part can be programmed to meet specific customer specifications and needs.
